Munich, 5 September 2017. - bayernets GmbH has successfully completed the tunneling works under the Inn and Innwerk canal. The tunnel is 696 metres long and located in the district of Mühldorf am Inn. The end of the tunnel was successfully cut through on 31 August 2017. The tunnel drilling machine has been lifted from the ditch at the end of the tunnel in the area of Markt Kraiburg am Inn. On completion of the tunnel, the pipelines will be laid and connection works to the two other pipeline sections will be undertaken. The tunneling is a part of the construction works of the MONACO pipeline from Burghausen to Finsing. Commissioning of the MONACO pipeline is planned for autumn 2018.
The underground pipeline will run through the districts of Altötting, Mühldorf am Inn and Erding in the administrative region of Upper Bavaria. It will have a total length of approx. 87 kilometres and a nominal diameter of DN 1200. Further information about the MONACO pipeline is available at http://monaco.bayernets.de (in German).
