MONACO 1 General Agreement

High-pressure gas pipeline MONACO 1: bayernets GmbH and Bavarian Farmers’ Association sign general agreement

Munich, 13 August 2014. - bayernets GmbH and the Bavarian Farmers’ Association (District Association responsible for Upper Bavaria) have signed a common general agreement for agricultural land which will be affected by the construction of the planned high-pressure gas pipeline MONACO 1. This agreement stipulates what conditions and compensation rates will apply for agricultural land which should be needed for the building of the pipeline. bayernets will integrate this general agreement into the so-called “restricted personal easement“ and make arrangements with owners regarding the land in question. This general agreement also defines compensation for land, crop and forestry damage which can occur as a consequence of the construction works. These settlement payments will be negotiated separately with the respective owners or tenants of the land. The general agreement describes the construction process, the careful handling of the ground and the way in which a possible negative impact on the land after the construction phase will be dealt with. bayernets GmbH will appoint a contact person especially designated to the operators of the agricultural land for the duration of the construction works.

bayernets plans the construction of a natural gas transmission pipeline which will stretch from Burghausen to Finsing. With its new pipeline MONACO 1 bayernets GmbH aims to develop its cross-regional gas transmission system in order to meet shipping capacity needs in Southern Germany and to optimise cross-border gas exchange. The underground pipeline with a diameter of 1,200 millimetres and a total length of approx. 86 kilometres is planned to run through the districts of Altötting, Mühldorf am Inn and Erding.
